Ted Lasso Season 3 was announced in October 2020, but no official release date has been announced.
The series has become a fan favorite, following an extraordinarily kind American football coach who is hired to manage a professional “soccer” team in England despite his poor knowledge of the game.
Jason Sudeikis, who plays the starting coach and won an Emmy for his portrayal, stole hearts. Ted faces perhaps his toughest challenge yet, as a former ally has become a new adversary more on that in a moment.
AFC Richmond are back in the Premier League after a difficult second season in which they took on a new challenge in a lower league and set their sights on getting back to the top.
But, when it comes to Ted Lasso Season 3, what can we anticipate? So far, here’s what we’ve learned.
Ted Lasso Season 3 Release Date Speculation
Apple has yet to confirm this, but that hasn’t stopped rumors from spreading. We don’t know who the Hollywood Reporter’s source is that they wouldn’t tell us; we’re not friends with them on a Lasso/Crimm level, but the outlet said Apple plans to release Ted Lasso Season 3 by summer 2022.
The brief gap between seasons 2 and 3 – less than a year! — appears to be due to careful planning. As previously reported, Apple announced Ted Lasso Season 3 in October 2020, months before Season 2 premiered.
The confidence of the masterminds of Team Lasso was likely able to start planning and composing the new season early due to the head start. But, based on AFC Richmond’s relegation and promotion framework in seasons one and two, it’s safe to infer that showrunner Bill Lawrence and his colleagues have a strategy.

What can fans expect in ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3?
Brendan Hunt, co-creator, writer and star Ted Lasso has revealed some ideas for the third season. Brendan, who plays Coach Beard, told TVLine that the upcoming season may begin after a time jump from the events of the last one. He explained, “Well, we don’t like to repeat ourselves.” “We started the Premier League season in January of our first season.”
Season 2 started at the end of September and we arrived at the end of October. We’ve never started a season from the start, so that’s something we’d like to do. We’ll face West Ham twice – home and away – because that’s how the English Premier League schedule works.
For those who may have forgotten, assistant coach Nathan Shelley Nick Mohammad left AFC Richmond to work for rival team West Ham, which is controlled by Rebecca Welton’s ex-husband Hannah Waddingham, Rupert Mannion Anthony Head. Season 3 will undoubtedly be defined by the duel between AFC Richmond and West Ham United.
We can also expect Brett Goldstein to explore more of Keely Jones’ Juno Temple and Roy Kent’s romance. Season 3 will dive “deeper into the backstories” of certain characters, according to producer Kip Kroeger, who spoke to Deadline. Kip teased, “You know, we’re going to find out a bit more about where they came from.”
