Toronto police say two people were seriously injured in a shooting at a nightclub early Sunday morning, which came just hours after a man was shot near one of the largest transportation hubs from the city.

They say the shooting at a downtown nightclub took place around 3:30 a.m. and left a man and a woman with life-threatening injuries.

The fatal shooting near Union Station, where local and regional buses and trains run, happened around 7:30 p.m., shortly after a Toronto Blue Jays baseball game ended.

The incident led to the lockdown of the station and a brief halt to all train and bus services.

Toronto police said they don’t have anyone in custody for either of the recent shootings, but said they believe the incident at Union Station was targeted and that they was looking for two suspects.

const. Toronto Police Department Alex Li says any shooting is serious and tragic, but acknowledges that such incidents will be particularly upsetting for many residents when they take place in such public places.
