“We went out and a lot of other places went out in Princeton and Osoyoos, all over the Okanagan I hear,” said owner Jagdeep Sumal of Keremeos Fas Gas.

“I’ve run out of everything.”

“There’s a lot of traffic and a lot of fuel demand, but not a lot right now.”

Some Esso and Mobile gas stations ran out of fuel at their pumps in the Okanagan and Kamloops earlier this week, but Imperial Oil said it was due to an ethanol shortage at the Suncor terminal in Kamloops. He has a “supply agreement” with Suncor for the area.

“Our ethanol supply chain has improved over the past few days and deliveries have resumed from the terminal (Monday),” Keri Scobie, director of public and government affairs for Imperial Oil, said in an email to iNFOnews. .ca on June 28. “Our current supply outlook is that our inventory will return to steady levels early to mid next week.

Gas supply shortages have been reported at several locations in the region.

Sumal said there is an issue with terminal loading racks, where fuel is loaded from, in Kamloops, so businesses have to source fuel from other locations in Burnaby and Alberta. , resulting in longer turnaround times for fuel, coupled with increased demand due to Canada Day weekend traffic.
