The Ranch Hand Trail Stop opened in 1979 along Highway 30 just north of Montpellier. Since then, this gas station has undergone three renovations, transforming it into the gas station we know today.
From the outside it may look like a small town gas station and truck stop, but inside you’ll notice a large convenience store where you can find all types of groceries, from odds and ends. -brac, souvenirs, gifts, snacks, drinks and more.
There is also a large Trucker’s Lounge for truckers traveling on Highway 30. Here you will find a large kitchen area, showers and other amenities for life on the road.
In 2009, a sports bar was opened at the Ranch Hand Trail Stop. This space is designed for you to relax, watch a game on one of the large screen HDTVs and enjoy a cool drink.
The sports bar offers a selection of foreign and domestic wines and beers. Pair your drink with an appetizer (like fried pickles!) and you’ll be set for the perfect evening.
However, the restaurant is one of the main reasons why many truckers, guests and even locals stop there. This restaurant serves some of the best homemade food in southern Idaho. In fact, this restaurant was even voted “National Best Breakfast” by truckers.
