Mischievous, clumsy, accomplished; troubled, determined and fierce. Our beloved Genshin Impact companions show and teach us the ways of the world of Teyvat. Whether it’s facing blades, serving justice, helping people, or navigating the nuances of society, our friends always strive to do their best. Some more passionately; others more fiercely; and a few – very questionable.
Those missing manners, unquestioning ethics, and precious quirks are part of the charm that makes traveling between us and our fellow travelers so fun. Here is some stars you can expect to encounter along the way. These characters will never stop and smell the roses, they’re too busy stomping on them to get to the next adventure.
ten Traveler: You are the threat
You’ve made quite a name for yourself. You have pride, you have skills, and you have visited hundreds of worlds. The traveler has seen it all – and because of it – has a sarcastic, judgmental, and kind personality. When you’re not running around like Saviour, Hero, and honorary knight, you fight bosses and solve civil wars; venturing to abyssal depths and celestial heights.
Without forgetting your parallel concerts in festivals, cooking competitions and tournaments. Hitting all the monsters and enemies for valuable materials is just another Tuesday, as you take every commission that passes you and wring the Adventurer’s Guild dry of their Mora. No, it’s not easy to be everyone’s favorite errand boy or girl, best friend and confidant as you solve the mysteries of the world, but you do everything for your missing twin – and the money, of course.
9 Paimon: your partner in crime
You fished it out of a river, and although you no idea what she was doing there in the first place, you asked no questions, and she was your faithful sidekick from. Paimon is an excitable, go-getter who has no problem make a fuss if there’s something bothering her – it doesn’t matter if the person you’re with is a complete stranger or a friend.
She is mouth watering with as much ardor for food as she is for lucrative treasures. And let’s not forget – you can always count on Paimon to roast everyone you meet or to brag about your accomplishments and great exploits as your proud best friend and insatiable travel companion.
8 Venti: the archon of wind and wine
Your first impression of Venti is that he’s a sleazy kid running around, to no good, dressed all in green. Not much changes even after the discovery that he is in fact Archon of Mondstadt. A free spirit – and a bit of an alcoholic. It’s quite normal to find this young god passed out in a bar, adrift in a boat overseas, or coercing some Knights of Favonius to pay for expensive wines in exchange for services.
Utterly unapologetic and somewhat chaotic, Venti has no qualms about breaking into sanctimonious vaults, repeating Paimon in unprovoked mockery – or trying to spin a lie or two in order to get out of the embarrassing situations in which he found himself.
7 Chongyun: Not Yin but Yang
Once upon a time there was an important clan that visited the Wan Min Restaurant having dinner. A celebratory outing that turned into a debacle when the restaurant owner’s daughter found herself slapped across the forehead with protection and chased with a sword. The culprit was none other than Chongyun. He can look cool and calm and collected, but the truth iseverything is discipline.
Much to his dismay, Chongyun was born with a fiery spirit and an incredible overabundance of yang energy. Without repressing its overflow, wild impulses overwhelm him and tend to reject chaos in the immediate vicinity. Even so, Chongyun is determined to “purge evil”, taking the matter of finding spirits and defeating them very seriously, when much tends to fly directly over his head.
6 Childe: The Whale Man
Eleventh of Snezhnaya; the youngest Harbinger in the field, a terror in battle and a foodie extraordinaire. There’s no one in his wintry homeland in the ranks who hasn’t heard the name’Child’. Logically, there is no reason to invoke a huge Hydro Whale and knock it down on your opponents, but Tartaglia will do it anyway for the joy and amusement it brings him as he watches the beating unfold.
With an insatiable thirst for battle, his shining eyes are constantly on the lookout for worthy opponents against which to hone his skills. No matter if it is used as a catalyst for chaos in the projects of others, as long as he can plunge into the carnage himself and test his power, he will be there. The bigger the challenge, the better!
5 Diluc: the black knight of Mondstadt
He doesn’t roam the streets in the shadows of night with a gravelly voice and mock bats, but he dons a mask to serve justice himself. Once captain of the Knights of Favonius himself, Diluc has no problem pointing out their flaws to the face. His disrespect for the Order of Knights ruffles a feather or two, but that’s not really his concern, as a big part of his goal is to ensure the care of Mondstadt’s wine industry and get rid of threats to the city.
Although these methods are a bit unscrupulous. Curiously, he became Snezhnaya’s number one wanted for the beating Fati encampments so horribly that they had to send Warning signs hunt him down to end it. Unfortunately, they failed. To this day, Diluc exists as a nuisance of a thorn alongside them.
4 Shenhe: Adept’s Crane
Shenhe was born human, but raised by Adept of Liyue. As a result, his social skills are… somewhat lacking. From a distance she appears deadpan and aloof, on the surface she appears carefree, as she will very calmly tell those who argue with her or disturb the peace that she will reduce them to a pulp.
His true urges are suppressed speak red cords wrapped around her body, suppressing her emotions, but without them she is a fiercely expressive and angry woman who would fight to protect their friends and defend what’s important to them without hesitation.
3 Arataki: He is allergic to beans
It’s your buddy, your man, your buddy; with a heart of gold. The leader of the “illustrious” Arataki Gang by Hanamizaka love Onikabuto fights, running around with kids and generally hanging out on busy city streets. He is largely unemployed and represents a bit of a danger to the Tenryou Commission who wants to see his shenanigans stop.
He will squabble with the rule-abiding, Kujou Sara, greets you with raucous enthusiasm and encourages his gang with raucous enthusiasm. Is there anyone else who would volunteer to volunteer for you and scream off a cliff for stress relief? If there’s a ruckus to be found in the middle of Hanamizakayou can bet it’s somewhere around.
2 Xiangling: the fire chief
There are few things that can put out the fires burning in Xiangling’s heart when it comes to cooking. Many explosions and many destroyed woks in the kitchen paved the way for his hobbies.
The daughter of the famous Wanmin restaurant owner, a chef almost second to none, she dedicated herself to perfecting the craft with the teachings of her father. If there is a competition or a philosophy to prove through food, it will be there, excited. Nothing annoys him more than those who question cooking and its principles.
1 Raiden Shogun: Ei’s Puppet
She evaporated La Signora in an instant. It was about enough to strike a chord of confusion and fear in all of us. Raiden Ei, herself, is thoughtful and observant; seeking what is best for the nation over which she presides.
the puppet she created play the role of Shogun, on the other hand, tends to eliminate threats – ruthlessly – without hesitation with a personality that is much drier, direct and without room for maneuver. There is certainly no bargaining with her. If you make a promise or swear, she will expect you to stick to it or Take the consequences.
